Biohome Developments is a real estate development company based in Edmonton that develops properties using biobuilding design principles and natural building materials.  Biobuilding design integrates the natural environment and is done in a way that reduces a building’s environmental footprint and enhances the health and wellbeing of inhabitants. Building materials for biohousing developments come from local companies and are made from native natural resources. 

Karen Stanko, Founder and President of Biohome Developments, is an experienced real estate agent and developer who specializes in recreation and environmental properties.  With a BSc in Conservation Biology and Management, Karen has always believed that development should be healthy for both people and the environment.

Karen is interested in pushing the envelope when it comes to designing and building. Through Biohome Developments she works to incorporate innovative building products made from natural materials, and sound environmental design and construction practices into all of her projects.  Karen’s goal is to ensure that the people who live in houses developed by Biohome Developments.
